The philodendron is called the black gold philodendron because "melanochrysum" means "black gold".  The leaves of melanochrysum are a deep green that has a gold speckled appearance.  This plant loves to climb and will want a stake or a pole to climb. I often see these in peoples terrariums or in their ikea grow cabinets to let the leaves get big and long

Plant Care:

• Medium  - bright indirect light
• Water once 3/4 of the soil is dry
• Average home humidity is perfect
• Between 18 - 26 degrees - keep away from cold drafts
• Fast growing plant
• Use a complete liquid fertilizer or slow release fertilizer bi-weekly over growing season
